When Passengers Write Poetry and Flight Attendants Sing

(from the album Ambrosia)

how long must i wait
to re-conspire with my partner in crime?
1 wax and 1 wane, 2 ferry rides,
3 don’t-know-where-to-start emails

is how long.
how long is, a piece of string
and how long is long enough to miss you

Oh you, you will be mine
When passengers write poetry
and flight attendants sing

So I’ll be waiting
to ask the Man About the House
how was her hammock in Fiji -
and was it slung for
a King or Queen
was it her island fairytale

Oh you, you will be mine
When passengers write poetry
and flight attendants sing…
Oh oh you, you will be mine
When passengers write poetry
and flight attendants sing

Anticipation, is killing me
and my partner in crime
and how long,
how long is, a piece of string?
and how long is long enough to miss you?

Oh you, you will be mine
When passengers write poetry
and flight attendants sing
Oh you, you make me high
watching passengers write poetry and
flight attendants and their captains sing

You could be mine,
when passengers write poetry
and flight attendants sing

oh I miss you, I miss you, I miss you
how long must I wait
oh the anticipation is killing me
how long must I wait
how long must I wait
