Listen / Buy MP3 (from the Coco’s Lunch album Blueprint)
A fast, percussive vocal piece featuring close vocal harmonies and based on the Spanish Gypsy minor scale. Inspired by the volcanic sand beaches and cliff-top markets of Varkala in Kerala in South India. From the Coco's Lunch album blueprint which was nominated for an ARIA Fine Music award in 2007.
In both versions the Flute part (and solos) may be substituted by voice (soprano) if no flautist available. If your vocal ensemble has single singers on each part, the lower singers have freedom to improvise around the vocal percussion parts (refer to Coco’s Lunch original recording).
