Chanson Pour Anaïs
Chanson Pour Anaïs
A Cappella arrangement
Composed by Jacqueline Gawler
Listen / Buy MP3 (from the Coco’s Lunch album Misra Chappu)
SSAAT (with Sop lead)
An original chant drawing on the West African rhythm Sorsonet and featuring the traditional Sorsonet song of the Baga ethnic group from the Boké region of Guinea. The song uses percussion (djembe, dunun/sourdo/floor tom and shekere) as well as claps throughout. A highly rhythmic and playful piece that plays on the subdivisions of 6/8.
Five part vocal score (SSAAT with Soprano Lead - identical to the Coco's Lunch version), suitable for women's voices (provided low women’s voices are available - bass notes sit on E3) or mixed choir.
